Join High Five’s Nonprofit NetWalk! This free walk meetup is a fun, relaxed, and informal way to connect and network with fellow nonprofit leaders, funders, and Board members. You’re invited to share a current challenge you’re facing for some “on-the-go” problem-solving with your peers.

We’ll be joined by hosts from Interfaith Community Services – Veteran’s Center, and get a peek inside at their facilities!

Difficulty level: Easy. The walk will be about 2-3 miles at a social pace along a flat and accessible route for all.

Who can attend: Anyone in the nonprofit and philanthropic field. Leashed and well-behaved furry friends are welcome to accompany us.

Location: Interfaith Community Services – Veteran’s Center location in Oceanside at 1617 Mission Ave

Time: 11:30am – 1pm

Cost: Free

Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.

Nonprofit NetWalk’s 1-Year Anniversary in Del Mar w/ FundaMental Health

Date: Thursday, September 7 @ 4pm-6pm

Description: Join us for a new twist to our Nonprofit NetWalks with a “hoppy hour” walk in beautiful Del Mar. We’ll be hosted by Wyatt Hinshaw of FundaMental Health. We’ll meet at Viewpoint Brewing Company which is beautifully situated by the Del Mar Fairgrounds. From there, we’ll walk 2-3 miles along the Coast to Crest trail by the San Dieguito River.

Location: Viewpoint Brewing Co. 2201 San Dieguito Drive, Suite D, Del Mar, CA 92014

Parking: Free parking available in Viewpoint lot. Overflow paid parking available in adjacent lot.

Additional Info: Viewpoint Brewing has graciously agreed to sponsor our event and will provide drinks and appetizers to thirsty and hungry NetWalkers after we finish our walk. Your leashed, well-behaved furry friends are welcome to join us. Our host will have water and treats available for them as well!

Join High Five’s Nonprofit NetWalk! This free walk meetup is a fun, relaxed, and informal way to connect and network with fellow nonprofit leaders, funders, and Board members. You’re invited to share a current challenge you’re facing for some “on-the-go” problem-solving with your peers.

Join host Kira Foody, VP of Development at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego, Mollenkopf Family Branch.

Difficulty level: Easy. We will walk along a beautiful, partially paved 2½ mile loop trail. Option to hang around after our walk for a private behind-the-scenes tour.

Who can attend: Anyone in the nonprofit and philanthropic field. Leashed, well behaved dogs are welcome. Stroller friendly.

Location: Rancho Bernardo at 4S Ranch

39th Annual Coastal Cleanup Day

North County Philanthropy Council July 19, 2023

This year, our countywide Coastal Cleanup Day returns with 100+ locations for volunteers to choose from, inland and coastal.
I Love A Clean San Diego leads the efforts during the event and is coordinated by the Ocean Conservancy with partnering volunteer organizations to create the largest international cleanup day in San Diego County. Data collected from this event is sent directly into the world’s largest database on marine debris and volunteers get to make a tangible impact in their communities.

Improv Classes at the Brooks

North County Philanthropy Council July 3, 2023

Join in on the fun with improv classes taught by Chicago-trained improv teacher, Chris Shurland! Improv classes will begin on July 18 at 7 pm and will meet every other week at Studio 219 of the Brooks Theater. Classes are free to everyone and every subsequent class is $10! (Please note: Class will not be held on July 4.)

Chris Shurland, the founder of Santa Barbara’s Irreverent Improv, is a Chicago-trained improv teacher and performer currently based in Southern California. Before being a part of several house and independent teams in Chicago, Chris completed the training programs at Second City, iO (formerly ImprovOlympic), and Annoyance Theater and was lucky enough to be trained by some of the nation’s best improv teachers.

Artist Open House “Summer Fun”

Experience the captivating ambiance of the Brooks Theater Gallery’s Artist Open House, where “Summer Fun” takes center stage on June 16, from 5:30 pm to 8 pm. The “Summer Fun” art exhibition in the Sunshine Brooks Theater showcases the art of the North County Society of Fine Arts (NCSFA) members. Each piece has been judged by Gallery Curator Carol Naegele, and the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Honorable Mention winners will be announced during the Artist Open House. Enjoy ice cream sundaes, live Hawaiian and soft jazz music by Adrian DeMain, live art demonstrations, tours of the theater, and of course art! All are welcome to attend. Face 2 Face: Portraits and Self-Portraits

North County Philanthropy Council March 30, 2023

“Face 2 Face: Portraits and Self-Portraits” will be on exhibit March 29 – May 1. The artist open house on April 7 from 5- 8 pm will feature an artist demonstration, live music, light refreshments and mini-tours of the theater. Tours take visitors through the costume and prop room, the Tech Loft, the main stage, the makeup room, the studio, and the shop, while discussing some of the history and mystery of the Brooks Theater.

Nonprofit NetWalk in Ocean Beach with San Diego River Park Foundation

Join High Five’s Nonprofit NetWalk! This free walk meetup is a fun, relaxed, and informal way to connect and network with fellow nonprofit professionals. We will be joined by hosts from the San Diego River Park Foundation

SDRPF is dedicated to conserving and caring for the amazing San Diego River and its ecosystem, creating a community where people and nature thrive!

Difficulty level: Easy. The walk will be about 1-2 miles at a social pace along a flat route.

Who can attend: Anyone in the nonprofit and philanthropic field. Leashed and well-behaved furry friends are welcome to accompany us.

Location: We will meet at the Ocean Beach Dog Beach entrance at the end of Voltaire Street. We will have signage at the entrance corner of W. Point Loma Blvd and Voltaire and another sign at the foot of Dog Beach opening to the beach.

Time: 9am – 10:30am

Cost: Free

Parking: Free parking available on the surrounding streets.

Additional info: Dress is casual with comfortable shoes. Coffee will be provided.
