Nonprofit NetWalk with Curebound in Sorrento Valley

Angel Mason Broadus May 26, 2026

I came across a statistic recently that was quite eye-opening–about 40% of all people in the U.S. will have cancer in their lifetime. Wow!

There are a lot of organizations doing research to find cures. We’re fortunate to have a nonprofit in San Diego, Curebound, that has funded cancer research to the tune of $50 million thus far.

I’m thrilled that Curebound will be hosting our upcoming Nonprofit NetWalk in Sorrento Valley on Friday, May 29.

We’ll have the opportunity to meet Jayme Rubenstein, Community Fundraising Manager. Join us for what promises to be a fun and enlightening socially-paced networking walk with fellow nonprofit leaders, philanthropists, and board members!

Miles of Hope

Angel Mason Broadus April 16, 2026

Helping those in need one mile at a time: your generosity takes them further.

Travelers Aid’s annual event supports transportation for San Diegans in need. Join us!

Themed cocktails, beer, wine, and a full Mediterranean dinner will be set to a background of summertime fun and live music, with silent auctions and raffles rounding out the event. This year, we’re happy to offer an open bar! We hope you can join us for Miles of Hope, and will help spread the word to your friends, families, and colleagues.

We’ll be raising funds to help provide transportation to low income older adults right here in San Diego. Access to transportation allows our clients to stay independent and make necessary life connections.

We’re also raising funds to support our Journey to Safety program. Survivors of domestic violence need our help to get to medical, legal, and counseling appointments locally, AND to leave the area so that they can live in places of safety and support. We provide many modes of transportation support as well as hotel stays and food during travel. This popular and needed program is being threatened by a lack of future funding, and it’s so important to continue our work in this space!

Please support us on May 7th by purchasing a ticket, making a donation, or sponsoring the event. You can also make a difference by purchasing a ticket for one of our cherished clients or volunteers at a discounted price!

Climate Advocacy Group – Dayenu Circle

Angel Mason Broadus February 20, 2026

Join Coastal Roots Farm for their new Dayenu Circle, a monthly advocacy group rooted in Jewish values and hope-filled climate action.

Together with Dayenu Circles across the US, we are fighting to pass an important and winnable CA initiative: the CA Climate Superfund Bill (SB 684/AB 1243), or “Make Polluters Pay.” The Polluters Pay Superfund Bill will make the Big Oil and Gas companies that have made trillions in profits in California pay their fair share when climate emergencies strike our state.

Bloom Together: An International Women’s Day Celebration

Angel Mason Broadus February 11, 2026

Join us for Bloom Together, an event celebrating International Women’s Day (IWD) with Women’s Empowerment International (WE). This year’s IWD theme, #GiveToGain, reflects the heart of our work: when we give, women around the world gain the skills, microloans and other financial tools, and opportunities they need to lift themselves out of poverty and build lasting economic independence.

Enjoy an inspiring time of community and creativity featuring postcard and keychain-making stations, a flower bar, an inspiring speaker, an opportunity drawing with curated prizes, and a special photo booth experience. Tickets include one drink ticket, light bites and desserts, and access to all activities. VIP tickets include a special WE tote bag with gifts, an extra drink ticket, and additional opportunity drawing entries. Bring a Friend discount: Buy a ticket for your friend and get $5 off each ticket!

Celebrate while supporting women near and far! Event proceeds benefit WE grants for economic empowerment programs for women facing poverty in San Diego County and around the world. This year, we are supporting programs with 11 high-impact partners in San Diego County, Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras, Nepal, and Uganda. Learn more at the event!
