35th Annual Coastal Cleanup Day

North County Philanthropy Council July 10, 2019

I Love A Clean San Diego (ILACSD) would like to invite you to save the date for the 35th Annual Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday September 21st from 9am to 12pm! Registration opens on Monday August 26th at www.CleanupDay.org! All available locations will be posted on the website with directions and maps included.

We are hoping to mobilize over 8,000 volunteers at 100+ sites throughout San Diego County! The sites will range from beaches, trails, parks, and neighborhoods, along with a few on-water locations. Last year on Coastal Cleanup Day, our 6,808 volunteers at 106 sites removed 138,499 pounds of litter and debris, as well as completed special projects like painting, planting, and removing invasive plants to help restore our environment.

More information about our event, like the ILACSD 65th Anniversary Commemorative Patch, Bling Your Bucket contest, Sony Photo Contest, and the event waiver required by all participants (parent/guardian signature mandatory for volunteers under the age of eighteen) will also be available on the website shortly under “Event Info”.

WATERSHED WARRIORS: Bonsall Community Cleanup

North County Philanthropy Council May 31, 2018

Join ILACSD and the County of San Diego for a litter cleanup in Bonsall! We will pick up trash around the Bonsall Community Center and along the Bonsall Preserve to divert waste from the San Luis Rey watershed and maintain the natural beauty of the community!

We will have cleanup supplies, snacks, and water. We also provide community service hours and Letters of Appreciation for volunteers. This is a great opportunity for students and families to learn ways to protect our local environment!

We encourage volunteers to bring their own reusable items such as water bottles, work gloves, and buckets to promote zero-waste practices and help us in our mission to have a zero waste, litter free and environmentally engaged San Diego region!

All volunteers are required to fill out a waiver form to participate and anyone under the age of 18 needs a waiver signed by their parent or guardian.

Storm Drain Stenciling Day

North County Philanthropy Council March 6, 2018

Join Think Blue and ILACSD on Saturday, March 31st, from 10 AM – 12 PM for Storm Drain Stenciling Day at Pacific Beach Recreation Center, located at 1405 Diamond Street, San Diego, CA 92109!

Did you know that storm drains are not connected to the sewer system? Therefore, they are not treated and drain directly into our creeks, bays, lagoons and ultimately the ocean. Join us by stenciling a pollution prevention message above storm drains around the neighborhood. By doing so, you are educating the public that no pollutants or trash should go down the drains and into the ocean!

ALL are welcome to join for litter removal throughout the neighborhood!

All volunteers will need a signed waiver from ILACSD, which will be available soon. Participants under the age of 18 need parent or guardian signatures on their waivers. Any participants under the age of 16 may need adult supervision for stenciling. Join us in our efforts to be zero waste by bringing any reusable items such as water bottles, work gloves, and buckets!

Creek to Bay

North County Philanthropy Council February 15, 2018

Join I Love A Clean San Diego for another successful year at our 16th annual Creek to Bay cleanup! In 2017, we had over 6,500 volunteers at 112 locations beautify and remove over 170,000 lbs of litter and debris! Instead of turning a blind eye to the abundance of litter found across San Diego County, our volunteers channeled their appreciation for San Diego’s environment into action to protect it.
Creek to Bay is one of hundreds of cleanups hosted by ILACSD. In 2017, ILACSD mobilized over 32,000 volunteers who removed half a million pounds of debris from San Diego County. For more information about how to get involved, please visit www.CleanSD.org
