Six the Musical at Theatre School @ North Coast Rep

Angel Mason Broadus April 13, 2026

The Theatre School @ North Coast Rep presents a musical show with drama and comedy, the hit musical by Toby Marlow and Lucy Ross, SIX the Musical Teen Edition, as its next student production.

SIX is a modern retelling of the lives of the six wives of Henry VIII, presented in the form of a singing competition, within a pop concert. In the show, the wives take turns telling their stories to determine who suffered the most from their shared husband, but ultimately seek to reclaim their individual identities and rewrite their stories.

SIX is based on real historical events and figures, taking artistic liberties in its portrayal of these characters. The musical incorporates elements of historical fact, such as the marriages, divorces, and executions of the six queens, but brings them into a modern light, with tongue-in-cheek comedy and toe-tapping (to say the least) musical numbers.

Director Kayla René says of the production, “Each of the queens is even styled after a specific pop star, matching both voice and look to their pop star counterpart, while style and personality links to their historical queen. Audiences will be stunned at the amount of dance and music throughout the show and how effective its storytelling devices are.” Musical Director Marty Rose Vadeboncoeur adds, “These students are fearlessly rising to the challenge. It is so incredible watching them cheer each other on as they try out new riffs, or seeing the excitement when they absolutely nail a harmony. “ The show runs approximately 90 minutes with no intermission, featuring non-stop energy throughout. Additional production staff include Sound Designer, Jerson Rivas; Stage Manager, Benedict Heaps; Lighting Designer, Matt FitzGerald; and crew, Basil FitzGerald

Featured in the cast are Genevra Bojador, Carlsbad; Pippa Diaz, Encinitas; Sophia Duncan, Encinitas; Adrienne Gabriel, Carmel Mountain; Theodora Hoyle, Del Mar; Maeve McEvoy, Solana Beach; Tess Motschall, Solana Beach; Nicole Sample, Encinitas; Harper Smith, Encinitas; Kensie Williams, El Cajon; Violet Zenoff, Rancho Santa Fe.

Performances are April 9th through April 12th on North Coast Repertory

Theatre’s MainStage: 987 Lomas Santa Fe Dr. Suite D, Solana Beach, CA 92075 with show times at 5:30pm April 9th, 10th, and 11th, and 2pm April 11th and 12th.

Ticket prices are regularly $25.00 for adults and $12 for students. Please call the box office to reserve your tickets today: 858-481-1055.
