Vicarious Trauma as Moral Injury – Webinar

Angel Mason Broadus April 13, 2022

Mental Health Awareness Month with The Innocent Justice Foundation – Moral Injury May 2, 2022

Professionals in the helping fields are more likely to be exposed to conduct, material and circumstances that can lead to vicarious trauma. Individuals can be personally affected by the trauma of victims and others they witness and work with on a daily basis which can impact them professionally and personally. Please join us in this free 1.5 hour webinar as we discuss vicarious trauma and it’s impact on those who serve victims.

When an individual is in a position to have someone else’s life or safety in their hands and is required due to the circumstances, to be witness to an act or directly act in a way that goes against their own moral beliefs, a moral injury can occur. This type of impact, often considered a “soul wound” and can lead to a shattering of one’s worldview, one’s belief and trust in others and potentially, one’s trust in oneself. This presentation will discuss vicarious trauma and the effects of moral injury, as well as, identify tools and techniques to mitigate the negative effects on individuals in the workplace and personal lives.

Free Pet Vaccines

Angel Mason Broadus March 21, 2022

National nonprofit Petco Love and Bissell Pet Foundation have teamed up for a National Pet Vaccination Month campaign called “Give Pets Their Best Shot.” It’s to encourage pet parents to keep their pets up to date on vaccinations to protect them from contagious and deadly diseases such as parvovirus, distemper and panleukopenia.

Petco Love is committing to help end life-threatening diseases in pets by providing 1 million free pet vaccines nationwide.

Rancho Coastal Humane Society (RCHS) submitted a grant to receive 300 vaccinations, which include

DAPPv for dogs and HCP for cats. A limited supply of rabies vaccinations will be available, along with Microchips.

The Give Pets Their Best Shot initiative makes crucial pet vaccines accessible to pet parents who may be experiencing financial challenges and assures that cost is not a barrier to protecting pets from preventable diseases.

Rancho Coastal Humane Society in partnership with FACE Foundation, North County Lifeline and Live Well San Diego are working together to put on the free community event, which is open to pet families throughout the county.

Thank you, North County Lifeline, for hosting this event at your Vista headquarters!
