Casa de Amparo hosts 27th annual Meet the Chefs event to help fight child abuse and neglect

San Diego’s finest chefs and the local community will come together to support Casa de Amparo at Meet the Chefs, a spectacular food and wine event.

Meet the Chefs is an exquisite culinary experience offering guests unlimited samples of signature tastings crafted by chefs from over a dozen premier and local restaurants. An extensive selection of complimentary wine, beer, and champagne will also be served. Participating restaurants and chefs include:

The Hilton Del Mar is a beautiful atmosphere to enjoy an afternoon of fantastic food, wine, auction bidding, and opportunity drawings.

Farm to Table(aux)

Farm to Table(aux) is a beautiful, creative event featuring farm-to-table food; live, interactive art; and artisanal cocktails. Mingle and watch artists work on their paintings during a cocktail soiree, then move inside for a 3-course dinner featuring fresh, locally-sourced food and boutique wines. Enjoy live entertainment, including music and inspiring speeches from local youth.

This event benefits Reality Changers, a nonprofit organization which prepares youth to become first-generation college graduates and agents of change in their communities. Guests will have the opportunity to enter a mystère box raffle and bid on exciting auction items.

Discovery Poker Tournament

Join us for an evening of gaming, delicious food and drinks, and great company. First place will win a one-week stay in a surprise location. Other prize information to be revealed soon!

Listening Session on Hate Crimes – United Against Hate Week

 

Your Voice, Your Community!

What do you know about hate crimes, hate incidents, and reporting? What would you like to know? What would you like to see from how the Center engages with the community? How can we provide opportunities for education and support?

The North County LGBTQ Resource Center wants to bring our community together to better understand concerns around hate, how hate is showing up in our community, and how to protect and organize around hate crimes.

Fall Social

I Love A Clean San Diego’s Fall Social returns on Thursday, October 12! Join us at the Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa as the sun sets behind Mission Bay for a celebration of environmental action in our community. Enjoy live music, delicious food and drink, awards recognizing ILACSD’s community members and partners, the opportunity to bid on auction items, and more!

Proceeds from the event support ILACSD’s environmental education, community, and recycling programs that benefit all of San Diego County.

Empowered WE Rise

Join Women’s Empowerment International (WE) for an afternoon celebrating women’s strength and resilience at the Empowered WE Rise Fall Fundraiser on Sunday, October 15, 2023, in the beautiful Torrey Pines area at The Alexandria. Tickets include: delicious food by renowned, on-site restaurant, Farmer & The Seahorse, and drinks; live music; access to the Maker Fair with local women entrepreneurs from WE-supported grant partner programs; silent and live auctions; and, an inspiring program including a keynote by Maya Madsen, founder and CEO of Maya’s Cookies, America’s #1 Black-owned, vegan gourmet cookie company. All event proceeds benefit WE grants distributed to our partner programs in San Diego and internationally, supporting economic empowerment programs for women experiencing poverty.

Summer Kick-off with WE

Join Women’s Empowerment International (WE) for a friendraising fundraiser celebrating summer’s start with a backyard, catered BBQ, music, inspiration, connections, conversations, and women’s empowerment. There will be opportunities to learn about WE, our grant partners’ programs, and the empowered women who are served, along with delicious food, drinks, music, and door prizes! You will also be able to browse and purchase products from some of the women entrepreneurs participating in programs with WE grant partners.

The event is hosted by WE Board Member, Landen Villanueva, and her husband, Josh, at their beautiful home in Poway. The address will be sent upon registration. Please note: this is an outdoor event.

Hunt For Art

There are many hidden art treasures in Escondido to be found, and we will discover them All. The treasure hunt/scavenger hunt gives you clues to finding them. But just to be fair, we will all leave at the same time. You will be given your first clue Saturday evening at 4:00 PM online. Then the next one is at the next location.

Upon finding and arriving, you will find the next clue, and so on. Each week we will discover hidden treasures about Escondido art and the artist that make it. Each hunt will take somewhere between 1 to 5 hours depending on you and your team.

You may choose to find the clue, and then quickly move on to the next clue, or you may want to simply stay awhile and enjoy the art at that clue’s location and then move on to the next one. You may opt to stay and enjoy the venue (Your 1st drink is on me and the theater tickets are paid for as well.) Teamwork is encouraged although not mandatory. The object is to have fun discovering Escondido’s hidden art treasures.

You will receive the link to the first clue online, and after your spot is reserved. All the other clues will be found in one of the hidden treasures in Escondido. You can take part in as many hunts as you like. They all start Saturday evening at 4:00 PM online, where you will be given your first clue for the night.

A donation will be made in your name after you pay for your entry to the Southern Sudanese Community Center of San Diego. Thank you for your participation. Good luck and have fun!

Your ticket gives you admission to hidden art treasures, admission to a few of the locations like the theater, and a glass of wine (if you are 21 years old.)  You will receive your 1st clue at the start of the event on Saturday night at 4:00 PM.
