October 26th marks the completion of Rancho Coastal Humane Society’s (RCHS) Campaign for Second Chances, transforming the campus to meet the tremendous growth of community needs since its founding in 1960.  RCHS introduces 4 brand-new buildings, including Charlotte’s Medical Center, The Learning Center, Community Pet Food Bank, Behavior and Training Office, as well as a renovated Welcome and Adoption Center. RCHS will be able to expand their programs to support the human-animal bond, and to save and find forever homes for more than twice as many companion animals that are currently served.

Together for 20: Celebrating Two Decades of Economic Empowerment

The Bloom Together Brunch, hosted by Women’s Empowerment International (WE), is a springtime fundraiser in celebration of International Women’s Day, Women’s History Month, and the kick-off to the organization’s 20th anniversary of grantmaking. The event will be held on Saturday, March 23 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at The Links at Lakehouse in San Marcos. Come join us for a delicious brunch, words of empowerment from Poet Sunny Rey and San Marcos Mayor Rebecca Jones, beautiful views, music, opportunity drawings, fun, and inspiration from 20 years at WE. The event will raise grant funds for economic empowerment programs for women facing poverty in San Diego County and around the world.

Six String Society’s Back to Paris

The Six String Society brings its very popular ‘Back to Paris’ production to the Brooks Theater for the debut of the 2024 Live at the Brooks concert series. The stage will be set in Gregory Page’s 16th district Parisian apartment. In addition to international folk legend Page (an 8-time winner at the San Diego Music Awards), the musical ensemble will include gypsy jazz standouts (Django Reinhardt style), Pino Noir (from Long Beach) and Southern California bluegrass greats The Salty Suites. A magnificent evening awaits!

Mingle and watch artists work on their paintings during a cocktail soiree, then move inside for a 3-course dinner featuring fresh, locally-sourced food and boutique wines. Enjoy live entertainment, including music and inspiring speeches from local youth.

This event benefits Reality Changers, a nonprofit organization which prepares youth to become first-generation college graduates and agents of change in their communities. Guests will have the opportunity to enter a mystère box raffle and bid on exciting auction items.

Lifeline’s 50th Anniversary Event & CEO Don Stump’s Retirement

Incorporated in 1973, Lifeline was founded by community volunteers passionate about making a difference in the lives of local youth. Fifty years later, this remains our focus as we continue to provide cutting-edge, trauma-informed, community-based programming.

After 16 years of dedicated service as CEO, Don Stump will retire from Lifeline at the end of 2023. Under Don’s guidance, Lifeline has flourished into an organization that serves and connects with over 25,000 individuals each year, advancing our mission of building self-reliance among youth, adults, and families through high-quality, community-based services.

Join us in celebrating 50 years of impact and congratulating Don and thanking him for his service to Lifeline and the San Diego community at our event on Saturday, October 21 from 5:30 – 9:00 PM at the Seabird Resort (101 Mission Avenue, Oceanside, CA 92054). Dinner and open bar included.
