Jeff Ritchie Memorial Golf Classic

Angel Mason Broadus March 28, 2022

BGCSM’s annual Jeff Ritchie Memorial Golf Classic, presented by EDCO Waste & Recycling Services, gathers a full field of 144 golfers who play a round of golf to show their commitment to providing youth with the tools they need to build Great Futures. The event raises over $100,000 in crucial funds needed to support the Club’s mission-driven programs and services, ensuring that program costs remain affordable to San Marcos families.

At the event, guests can look forward to:

  • Competing in a 4-person scramble format tournament
  • Enjoying complimentary on-course food & beverages
  • Participating in contests & activities for prizes
  • A post-tournament happy hour awards reception
  • Supporting Great Futures for local kids & teens

The day begins with registration at 8:00 a.m. where guests can begin the day by browsing raffle opportunities and enjoying complimentary refreshments. The tournament officially begins with a short rally and shotgun starts at 9:30 a.m. Guests are met by various vendors, hole sponsors, and contests throughout the day on course. In addition, guests in attendance and other community members can participate in an online silent auction that offers a variety of exciting packages to bid on.

As the players end their round of golf around 2:00 p.m., the tournament ends with a live tally of contest winners and the announcement of the first through third place tournament winners during a Happy Hour Awards Reception with food and beverages. The finale of the event features a Helicopter Golf Ball Drop, where anyone can enter to win a $1,000 cash prize.

Watershed Warriors: Fallbrook Community Cleanup

North County Philanthropy Council September 4, 2018

Join ILACSD, the Fallbrook Community Center, and the County of San Diego for a litter cleanup in Fallbrook! We will meet at Fallbrook Community Center and pick up trash around the park and surrounding neighborhood to divert litter from the San Luis Rey watershed and preserve the area’s natural beauty!

We will have cleanup supplies and educational exhibits to discuss the impact of trash on our environment. We also provide community service hours and Letters of Appreciation for volunteers. This is a great opportunity for students and families to learn ways to protect our local environment!

We encourage volunteers to bring your own reusable items such as water bottles, work gloves, and buckets to promote zero-waste practices and help us in our mission to have a zero waste, litter free and environmentally engaged San Diego region!

All volunteers are required to fill out a waiver form to participate and anyone under the age of 18 needs a waiver signed by their parent or guardian.

See you there!
