The Legend of Sleepy Hollow at Theatre School @ North Coast Rep

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow at Theatre School @ North Coast Rep

Angel Mason Broadus October 28, 2025

The Theatre School @ North Coast Rep presents a show with chilling story telling in this adaptation of Washington Irving’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by John Heimbuch in collaboration with Jon Ferguson as its next student production. In the quaint village of Sleepy Hollow, stories of wonder and strangeness surround the
legend of a mighty headless Hessian. When the humble schoolteacher Ichabod Crane vies for the hand of the beautiful Katrina Van Tassel, the townsfolk might protest, but it is ultimately the Horseman who will decide Ichabod’s fate. A lively blend of gothic terror and tongue-in-cheek humor. This dynamic ensemble-based retelling of the famous Washington Irving short story is a spooktacular, crowd-pleasing theatrical event.

Director Benjamin Cole is thrilled to share the haunting journey of confusion, horror, and romance. “This adaptation inspires creative staging that tickles the imagination,” Cole insists. Assistant Director Benedict Heaps adds, “We’re having a lot of fun finding funny ways to be creepy during Halloween time. We think kids and families are going to love it.” The show runs a daring 90 minutes with no intermission and aims to excite audiences throughout. Additional production staff includes Sound Designer, Jerson Rivas; Stage Manager, Kaylin Poblete; Production Intern, Milo Jared, and Lighting Designer, Liam Sullivan.

The Theatre School @ North Coast Rep proudly delivers high-quality theatre instruction and seven student theatre productions throughout the year, offering accessible and fun training for various age groups. Check out all the upcoming options on the Theatre School website: www.northcoastreptheatreschool.org.

Featured in the cast are (Stewart Armstrong, Poway; Tirzah Cisneros, Mia Gascon, Julian; Mila Needleman, Encinitas; Alice Price, Carlsbad; Nicole Sample, Carlsbad; Harper Smith, Encinitas; and Phoebe Thomas, San Marcos.

Performances are October 16th through October 19th in North Coast Repertory Theatre’s Theatre School Studio Space: 985 Lomas Santa Fe Dr. Suite D, Solana Beach, CA 92075 with show times at 5:30pm October 16th, 17th, and 18th, and 2pm October 18th and 19th. Season of Sharing 2025 – Benefiting Clients of the San Diego Regional Center

Angel Mason Broadus October 28, 2025

A Celebration with Purpose: Season of Sharing at Stone Brewing

Season of Sharing returns on November 16th at Stone Brewing, Liberty Station, for a family-friendly afternoon where holiday fun meets giving back. Guests will enjoy holiday crafts, games, delicious bites, refreshing drinks, and quality time with loved ones—all while supporting San Diego Regional Center (SDRC) families who need a little extra support this holiday season.

Tickets include gourmet appetizers, signature beverages, and the chance to connect with others who share a commitment to making the holidays brighter. Proceeds provide holiday gift cards that bring dignity, joy, and togetherness to SDRC families.

Sponsorships: Extending Community Impact

Sponsorship opportunities are at the heart of Season of Sharing’s success. By partnering with the Foundation for Developmental Disabilities (FDD), businesses and organizations do more than provide holiday relief—they stand alongside the intellectual and developmental disability (I/DD) community in San Diego and Imperial Counties.

Your support extends far beyond a single season. Sponsorship is an investment in inclusion, compassion, and connection—values that ripple throughout the community and create lasting change. Together, we ensure San Diego Regional Center families experience the joy, dignity, and hope of the holidays, while strengthening a more inclusive community for years to come.

Join Us in Spreading Holiday Cheer

The Foundation for Developmental Disabilities invites community members, businesses, and organizations to be part of Season of Sharing—a program dedicated to ensuring no family is left behind during the holidays. Every donation, ticket purchase, and sponsorship directly supports SDRC families facing financial hardship.

By supporting Season of Sharing, you affirm the dignity of individuals with I/DDs and their families. Together, we can ensure the true spirit of the season—family, sharing, and joy—touches every home.
