REGENERATE! The Eco-Performance Fest

REGENERATE! The Eco-Performance Fest

Monica Martinez April 2, 2024

Join Coastal Roots Farm and JFEST for an evening of original eco-theater, dance, and music by some of California’s most exciting, forward-thinking artists. Earth-based Jewish wisdom will ground the event and serve as inspiration and jumping-off point for the artists. As we all navigate the darkness of the climate crisis and the environmental injustices of today, art can light our way and help us see, feel, and act with renewed joy and determination. That’s our hope for this Fest. Plus, loads of fun and connecting at our Farm after-party!

Farm Film and Music Series – Common Ground Film Screening

Monica Martinez April 2, 2024

Join us this summer for a 5-part series featuring inspiring documentary films, local musicians, and meaningful conversations around equitable food systems, environmental justice, and caring for the planet.

Common Ground is our first film in the series and was directed by Josh and Rebecca Tickell. Sobering yet hopeful, ‘Common Ground’ exposes the toxic interconnections of American farming policy, politics, and health, by sharing stories of destruction and healing across the United States and beyond, and how regenerative agriculture and soil health plays a vitally important role in changing these systems for the better.

Five fantastic teaching artists from across the U.S. will guide you in your tracks. Even if you consider yourself “uncreative,” we want you here! No prior experience is necessary, only the desire to play with something new. We will take care of the rest.

This program is mostly geared toward adults; kids ages 14+ also welcome. Two of the tracks will be particularly family-friendly.

Tu B’Shvat Food Forest Festival 2024

Monica Martinez December 7, 2023

Discover the enchanting world of interconnectedness at Coastal Roots Farm’s 9th Annual Tu B’Shvat Food Forest Festival.

Jewish tradition teaches that everything exists in relationship: we don’t exist in isolation but rather as part of a larger, interconnected whole. This year’s theme “Together we Grow” reminds us of the profound power of this connection. Every relationship, whether between people and plants, creatures and culture, is greater together than the sum of its parts.
