LiveSource was founded in 2016 by female entrepreneur Mary Levin who saw a need to help nonprofits raise money. Having been invited to countless galas and fundraisers growing up in San Diego and constantly on the receiving end of “asks” from her community, Mary knew there had to be a better and more efficient way to extend a foundation’s reach and raise more money. Meanwhile, her husband Scott, a family law attorney and sports enthusiast, wanted to know how to get his hands on his favorite team’s special game limited jerseys — so he offered to make a donation in honor of his favorite player to the charity of their choice. Together, the Levins created the LiveSource platform to solve both problems.
LiveSource has become the no-touch solution for foundations to continue to hold their auctions, often their largest source of fundraising. LiveSource also partners with charities and professional sports teams to auction off game memorabilia for a good cause. And the best part is that anyone from anywhere can bid on any item.
In just five years, LiveSource has helped hundreds of teams and charities, holding more than 5,000 auctions, and raising more than five million dollars to benefit organizations such as Wounded Warrior Project, Make-a-Wish Foundation, and the Humane Society. Locally, LiveSource is working with The San Diego Padres, The New Children’s Museum and The Home of Guiding Hands, while nationwide the list of schools and other organizations signing up to hold virtual fundraisers continues to grow!
