A Step Beyond is a Creative Youth Development organization serving youth and their families living at or below the poverty line with free after-school dance classes, academic support, and social services.

We make a ten-year commitment to support students and their families from 3rd grade to high school graduation and beyond in order to create deep, meaningful relationships that will ensure the artistic, academic, and social-emotional development of our participants.  Our holistic program ensures that our students have the resources and support they need to find success in all the areas in which they live, learn and grow.  A Step Beyond’s program goes beyond the child’s dance experience by strengthening their academic performance and providing family support services and resources.  In this way, we go beyond the child to serve families, neighborhoods, and the greater community.
