Spirit of the Barrio

August 21 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

We are excited to welcome you and your guests on Friday, August 21st to our Spirit of the Barrio luncheon, titled Protecting Patients and Community Health Centers: What’s at Stake with Prop 44?

This timely panel will bring together health care leaders, policy experts, and community advocates, to explore the potential impacts of Proposition 44 on patient care. Together, we’ll engage in an important conversation about what this ballot measure could mean for the health care safety net—in San Diego and across the state.

As always, Spirit of the Barrio is more than a luncheon. While enjoying our traditional tamales, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with fellow community leaders and partners who share a commitment to building healthier communities and ensuring that quality care remains accessible to those who need it most.

We hope you’ll join us for this meaningful discussion and be part of the conversation about protecting access to care for vulnerable communities across California.

Since 1986, Family Health Centers of San Diego’s Spirit of the Barrio luncheons have spread awareness about our mission to provide high-quality health care to underserved communities across San Diego, while also presenting a variety of themes to our guests as they dine on our legendary tamales.
The Spirit of the Barrio luncheon is a celebrated part of Family Health Centers of San Diego’s history and is held at 1728 Newton Avenue, in the Barrio Logan neighborhood. The luncheons are open to the public and also always feature regionally unique raffle and silent auction prizes.
We hope to see you at an upcoming Spirit of the Barrio!
