Women Leading Equitable Change Through Social Mobility
A conversation with the presidents leading higher education institutions in North San Diego County

SAN DIEGO, CA – March 1, 2023 – North County Philanthropy Council is excited to announce its first in-person, quarterly luncheon of 2023. In honor of International Women’s Day, NCPC is hosting the Women Leading Equitable Change in North County Luncheon on March 20, 2023, from 12PM – 2PM, at Cal State University San Marcos.

Moderated by Patricia Prado Olmos, CSUSM Chief Community Engagement Officer, the panel includes the Presidents for all three higher education institutions in North County: CSUSM President Dr. Ellen Neufeldt, Palomar College President Dr. Star Rivera-Lacey, and MiraCosta Community College President Dr. Sunita Cooke. Attendees will join this panel of influential women in higher education leadership as they discuss their journey to uplift our North County community through leveraging community engagement. Conversation themes will focus on the unique challenges women leaders face and how they collaborate across our region to support their institutional missions. It will be a celebration of inclusive leadership and a conversation about the importance of inclusivity and community partnerships to elevate our region.

“As we continue to make justice, diversity, equity and inclusion a through-line in everything we do, we want to recognize the impact that women have when they are in positions of power. We’ve seen a lot of companies and organizations talking about their efforts in driving initiatives that will support a more inclusive and diverse environment, but we still have a long road ahead for our communities to reach equity.” Monica Martinez, Managing Director – North County Philanthropy Council said. “This is why we chose to give these amazing leaders a platform to talk about how the perspective and approach of women can help foster environments that truly drive change in our communities by focusing on equity.” Visit https://ncphilanthropy.org/event/ncpc-luncheon-women-leading-change-in-north-county to learn more or register for the event.
