Our mission
Maximizing self-sufficiency with families and individuals through high-quality programs and advocacy in our communities.
MAAC is a leading provider of comprehensive social services in San Diego County, serving over 100,000 individuals every year in five key areas: Economic Development, Education, Health & Well-being, Housing, and Advocacy & Leadership Development.
- This past year, MAAC has achieved significant milestones in various sectors, making impactful contributions to both the community and the environment.
- Through our Electric Vehicle (EV) Access Program, we secured $645,000 in incentives and rebates, facilitating the purchase or lease of EVs.
- We launched the Early Childhood Education Apprenticeship Program, a workforce development program aimed to support individuals interested in a career within child development.
- MAAC currently has 11 housing projects, resulting in the renovation of 440 units and the creation of 1,175 new homes.
- MAAC utilized $1.6 million to weatherize 742 homes, enhancing living conditions.
- MAAC’s wellness programs aided 1,476 individuals in completing DUI education and supported 96 participants in achieving sobriety through MAAC recovery homes.
Our efforts have not gone unnoticed, as seen by our recognition as a 2023 California Nonprofit of the Year by Assemblymember Laurie Davies. This honor underscores our commitment to positive change, helping our community achieve the life they want and deserve.
