It’s been an exciting year! We’ve added new programs & services, expanded our partnerships, and increased our scope & scale.
New programs & services:
Todos Los Ninos (TLN): Grant funded by San Diego Foundation, San Diego Women’s Foundation, and Rest Haven Children’s Health Fund, and operated in partnership with Growing Minds, TLN is a pilot project designed to strengthen the capacity of early childhood education centers to offer high quality programs that include evidence-based preventive mental health interventions to low-income, minority, children and their families.
Screening to Care (S2C): Funded by the County of San Diego, S2C is a school-based initiative offered within Vista Unified School District. Using mySAEBRS screening results, we identify and determine school community and student social-emotional need and connect students to appropriate level of care using the multi-tiered system of supports framework.
New partnerships:
We partnered with the Fallbrook Regional Health District to provide comprehensive mental health services to meet the needs of children, youth, and adults in the district by establishing new and ongoing operations at the Community Wellness Center.
Goals of this pilot project are:
- To improve the mental health of our community.
- Expand access to affordable, professional services across the continuum of prevention, treatment, and recovery.
- Reduce or eliminate the stigmatization of seeking mental health services.
The practice of positive growth:
We were also the recipient of a generous grant from the California Department of Health Care Services to help position PFCS to address the significant behavioral health worker shortage in San Diego County. In addition to new branding and marketing materials, and revitalized workforce development practices, we are excited to share our new vision and mission:
Vision: We aspire to a future where individuals of all ages have the care, skills, and support they need to contribute to and thrive in communities.
Mission: We empower and uplift individuals of all ages in North San Diego County by providing high-quality mental health services that foster resilience and well-being.
Finally, we are putting the finishing touches on a new three-year strategic plan. Stay tuned!
