The San Diego County Grant Professionals Association chapter presents a US Census Bureau workshop featuring:  Armando Mendoza, Data Dissemination Specialist Customer Liaison & Marketing Services Office/Data Dissemination Branch, U.S. Census Bureau.

In this workshop we will review/discuss:

  • The Importance of the Decennial Census.
  • The Other Nine Years.
  • The relationship between the Decennial Census and the American Community Survey.
  • Selected Socioeconomic, Demographics, and Housing statistics
  • Step-by-step mining for data using the latest census tools and apps to do a geographic analysis.

Mr. Mendoza has worked in a number of capacities for the Census Bureau over the past decade, including leadership roles on the 2010 Census and 2020 Census early preparations, management of data collection activities for the Census Bureau’s ongoing programs and education efforts to facilitate broad use of Census Bureau data products.

Prior of joining the Census Bureau, Armando served in a range of executive positions in the reprographics industry. He provided leadership in several firms in California, Nevada, Arizona, Washington, and Mexico.

He currently works for CLMSO providing training, workshops, presentations and Webinars to businesses, census partners, community and faith-based organizations on using data tools and apps to access census data from the Decennial Census, Economic Census, and the American Community Survey.

Mr. Mendoza holds an M.B.A. degree from The Argyros School of Business and Economics at Chapman University, and an executive certificate in global management from Thunderbird University.
