Preserve the Encinitas boat houses

Encinitas Preservation Association is seeking a Treasurer for their Board of Directors. The mission of the EPA is the historic preservation of local landmark buildings, the Encinitas Boathouses. The EPA manages the two boat houses and four additional apartments on site as rental properties. The treasurer provides leadership and fiscal governance. If you are passionate about historic preservation in our community, we invite you to help guide our mission and make a lasting local impact.

Preferred experience includes knowledge of nonprofit financial management principles, property and asset management, and risk mitigation strategies. These skill sets are not required but are strongly preferred as we seek to round out the expertise of our Board and strengthen our long-term sustainability.

The Treasurer plays a vital role in the financial health and accountability of the Encinitas Preservation Association. This volunteer leadership position manages the organization’s financial operations, ensures compliance with reporting requirements, and provides financial transparency to the Board.

Contribute to governance, strategic planning, and advocate for the mission, bringing your professional perspective to board discussions.develop long-term financial strategies
Adhere to bylaws and policies, including conflict of interest and confidentiality standards
Support fundraising efforts through donor engagement, relationship-building, and participation in events and personal contributions
Serve as an ambassador for the EPA, promoting its mission and impact in professional and community settings
Contribute to governance, strategic planning, and advocate for the mission, bringing your professional perspective to board discussions.
Duties include:

Financial Management

Maintain monthly accounting records in QuickBooks.
Quarterly financial reports and tax prep is provided by a bookkeeping service.
Reconcile bank accounts each month.
Pay invoices and reimbursements in a timely manner.
Collect, deposit, and track all incoming funds.
Maintain records of invoices, deposits, and payments.
Provide guidance over tax compliance and budgeting
File bi-annual Charitable Organization Registration Statement with CA
Qualifications

Familiarity with QuickBooks or other accounting software.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to meet quarterly reporting deadlines.
Financial, bookkeeping, or accounting experience preferred.
