Into The Woods by Stephen Sondheim presented by Oceanside Theatre Co. and New Village Ars

New Village Arts (NVA) is partnering with the Oceanside Theatre Company (OTC)  to co-produce Stephen Sondheim’s INTO THE WOODS, at the Historic Brooks Theater in downtown Oceanside. Directed by NVA’s Kristianne Kurner, the musical, based on James Lapine’s book, brings well-known fairytale characters to musical life. Interwoven through their tales is the story of a baker and his wife, whose longing for a child is thwarted by a mischievous witch. Stephen Sondheim’s songs, seamlessly melded to Lapine’s text, are perfect expressions of the complications of living in modern society and the difficult choices we encounter on the paths of our lives.  INTO THE WOODS will transform the OTC’s Brooks Theater stage into a magic land where almost anything can (and does) happen. The production opens March 18 and runs through May 1 at the Sunshine Brooks Theater, 217 N. Coast Hwy., Oceanside, CA.
