Topic: Blended Gifts – Creating a Legacy though Current and Future Giving Fundraisers generally swim in their own lanes of either major gifts or planned gifts. Occasionally, those two lanes merge and the fundraiser helps a donor provides both current and future gifts. Over the past several years, those mergers seem more frequent and natural, but there are still many more opportunities to help donors create their legacies by utilizing both avenues of giving. In this session, we will explore how to identify opportunities to create blended gifts, how to discuss blended giving opportunities and examine some blended gift case studies. Learning Objectives:

Topic: Trump Tax Reform – What Does It Mean For Non-Profits And The Donors That Support Them? Today’s political environment presents a lot of questions for non-profits and the donors that support them. Will large donations continue to have the same tax benefits for high-income donors and if not, will those taxpayers continue to make large charitable gifts? Will there be an estate tax and if the estate tax goes away, how many affluent families will continue to provide estate gifts to charity? Also, if the estate tax goes away, will carry over basis apply to assets transferred through an estate? Will the IRS continue to seek eliminating minority and marketability discounts? Will donor advised funds have a minimum distribution amount similar to private foundations? So many questions like these make long-term planning difficult. Further, some of these issues can make non-profits reassess future funding. In this session Stephanie will address ways you can assist your donors in this environment of uncertainty.
