About this event
BIPOC Support Foundation’s Art Village Experience, in partnership with Brilliant Spectrum Art and Escondido Arts Partnership Municipal Gallery, is a summer program comprised of four different classes that involve two-hour instruction. Children (10 & up) and adults of underserved communities will have the opportunity to experience and learn different art techniques. The camp is taught by art educator Brenda Townsend of Brilliant Spectrum Art and BIPOC artist Mischele B Salvant of Poetic Artistry. Cultivating love of creating provides tools for youths and adults to reduce stress and communicate in unique ways, as well as boost confidence through artistic freedom.
Sign up now for Art Village Experience, taking place in Escondido Arts Partnership Municipal Gallery! These one-day camps will provide individuals 10 and up with art theory, art supplies, beginner and advanced tutorage, and you’ll even get to meet professional artists!
Why an Art Camp?
Art helps us express ourselves, no matter what is happening in the world around us. Cultivating love of creating provides tools for youth to seniors to reduce stress and communicate in unique ways, as well as boost confidence through artistic freedom.
Classes are FREE for ages 10 years through adult. You are not required to attend each class. Space is limited so please register soon to save your spot! All art supplies are included.
You may sign up for just one or all classes. All supplies will be given to students after the final class has ended – September 4th.
All Classes are 2pm to 4pm.
*Bring towel or blanket in case we venture across the street to Heritage Park.

SCHEDULE OF CLASSES
Friday, June 25
1:50- 2:10 Drawing 3-D shapes in charcoal
2:00- 2:10 Class begins, Teacher and student introductions during work time
2:10- 2:45 Basic color theory (Primary, secondary, tertiary colors)
2:45- 3:30 Shade and tint mixing. Must be done by 3:30 to give time to dry.
3:30- 4:00 Oil pastel lesson
Saturday, July 3
1:50- 2:10 Drawing 3-D shapes in charcoal
2:00- 2:10 Class begins, Teacher and student introductions during work time
2:10- 2:25 Bryttney of Poetic Artistry intro, she will share her work and discuss her process and thoughts behind her subjects and style
2:25- 3:15 Bryttney will teach students how to draw themselves, to be painted at the next session.
3:15-4:00 Watercolor technique lesson
Thursday, August 26
1:50- 2:10 Drawing 3-D shapes in charcoal
2:00- 2:10 Class begins, Teacher and student introductions during work time
2:10- 3:15 Bryttney will teach students how to paint themselves using tempera paint. Must be finished by 3:30 at the latest, to allow drying time prior to students taking their work home.
3:15- 4:00 Alma Thomas Collage lesson using watercolor underpaintings
Saturday, September 4
1:50- 2:10 Drawing 3-D shapes in charcoal
2:00- 2:10 Class begins, Teacher and student introductions during work time
2:10- 4:00 Watercolor lesson
