2020 Scholarship Guidelines and Criteria

North County Philanthropy Council (NCPC) is a regional membership association of non- profit professionals, board members and volunteers along with corporate philanthropists serving North San Diego County communities. Membership in the council is open to all organizations businesses, and individuals interested in learning and sharing to ultimately provide an even greater benefit to the communities and individuals they serve.

NCPC provides scholarships to those interested in becoming members who wish to promote philanthropy at your organization or within your community. Applicants may apply for a yearly membership scholarship, which includes a discounted fee* for attendance at NCPC quarterly workshops and luncheons plus the annual Volunteer Awards Luncheon (VAL). Applicants must meet the following criteria.

  1. Applicants must be employed by or volunteer at a nonprofit organization in San Diego County communities. Scholarship is for the nonprofit organization, not an individual.
  2. Applicants must be willing to commit to attending a minimum of two NCPC events during the term of the scholarship.
  3. Applicants have not received a prior scholarship from NCPC.
  4. Applicants must be willing to share how the scholarship helped them promote or advance philanthropy at their organization or within their community.
  5. Applicants are requested to volunteer at events in their first year; and serve on a committee in years #2 & 3.
  6. Applicants must be willing to attend a New Member Orientation during year 1.
  7. Applicants must submit a scholarship application within the specified time period.

Applications for 2020 must be received by January 31, 2020. Applicants will be notified of scholarship by February 15, 2020.

Scholarship Benefits:

Year One:

  • Nonprofit Organization membership at no charge
  • Quarterly Workshops = $10 per person
  • Quarterly Luncheon = $10 per person
  • Volunteer Awards Luncheon = $25 for Honoree and 2 people from the organization
  • Includes all other Organization Member Benefits at https://ncphilanthropy.org/membership-benefits/

Year Two:

  • Nonprofit membership = $50
  • Quarterly Workshops = $10 per person
  • Quarterly Luncheon = $10 per person
  • Volunteer Awards Luncheon = $25 for Honoree and 2 people from the organization
  • Includes all other Organization Member Benefits at https://ncphilanthropy.org/membership-benefits/

Year Three:

  • Nonprofit membership = $100
  • Quarterly Workshops = $10 per person
  • Quarterly Luncheon = $10 per person
  • Volunteer Awards Luncheon = $25 for Honoree and 2 people from the organization
