Full-time administrative assistant/social media and marketing support to help assist our organization in our day-to-day operations. This position provides administrative & marketing support for general operations, and programs such as: social media posting, filing, preparing written communication, reception, data entry, proposals, event planning, and other duties.
The Mitchell Thorp Foundation supports families whose children suffer from life-threatening illnesses, diseases, and disorders. Status:
Non-exempt position, 5 days per week, some weekends.
Job Summary:
Primary focus on utilizing social media and other communication outlets to increase overall awareness of the organization’s mission. This position is for you if you are seeking professional growth, have an interest in the field of marketing and communications, and a passion for giving back to an underserved segment of our community in great need.
Responsibilities include:
• Assisting with all aspects of social media within Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn – generating content, maintaining an ongoing editorial calendar, and gathering stats and reports
• Provide support to Foundation staff members.
• In a professionally and friendly manner, field phone calls, accept donations, etc.
• Maintain organizational files and documents.
• Must be extremely organized with record keeping.
• Comfortable learning, using, and running reports from data base systems such as FlipCause & Constant Contact.
• Draft sponsorship proposals and assemble packets per donor requests.
• Assist in drafting, editing, and disseminating written communications.
• Complete various projects including but not limited to mail, filing, emailing, preparation of letters, mail merges, etc.
• Assist with special projects and events and attend in capturing photos for social media & marketing purposes.
• Organizing and archiving press clippings and the photography database
• Assist with scheduling of volunteers.
• Assist with coordination of event logistics.
• Always represent Mitchell Thorp Foundation in a professional and friendly manner and develop a full understanding of Mitchell Thorp Foundation mission and role in the community.
• Conducting market research and analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Minimum two years related experience; nonprofit experience a plus.
• Proficiency in computer skills, including entire MS Office Suite.
• Have used graphic design software or Canva.
• Solid written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and to complete and report on assignments.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality, diplomacy, and tact.
• Excellent organizational, management, and problem-solving skills.
• Interest in marketing/communications and developing related skills.
