How to Communicate Your Organization’s Mission Effectively and Get More Attention (Non-Profit Workshop)
April 11 @ 8:00 am - 9:30 am
$15 – $30Event Navigation
In our last session, you gained a comprehensive understanding of the legal landscape for nonprofits, equipping you with tools to maintain compliance and strengthen your organizational foundation. Next, we’ll turn our attention to communicating your organization’s mission with impact. Helping you walk away ready to share your organization’s story with confidence and clarity.
You’re passionate about what you and your nonprofit organization do, but you struggle to get the word out. Getting attention from funders and potential donors can be challenging in a hyper-competitive, information-overload society like the one we live in. How can you rise above the noise?
In this workshop, Sarah Flocken of SLH Communications will get you on your feet and out of your comfort zone, helping you communicate your mission succinctly and get in front of bigger audiences. She’ll draw on years of public relations experience, as well as a little bit of improv comedy, to help you refine your elevator pitch, speak in headlines during media interviews, and begin brainstorming some basic public relations strategy.
Key Takeaways from this session…
– Feel more confident about making a succinct, 15-second-or-less elevator pitch about your organization at networking events
– Understand why it’s important to speak in broad headlines, and then drill down into the specifics of what you do
– Have a basic understanding of the best practices for nonprofit public relations
