Victoria Zepeda Sotelo, Executive Director, Promotora de las Bellas Artes
Victoria Zepeda Sotelo has more than 17 years of experience as a cultural agent in Tijuana. She has a bachelor’s degree in Cultural Management from the Universidad de Guadalajara (UDG). Among her experience, Victoria has served as former Coordinator of Tijuana’s Municipal Public Libraries Network, Coordinator of Promotion and Public Culture at Tijuana Municipal Institute of Arts and Culture, Executive Director at Casa de la Cultura El Pípila, Coordinator of the program “Cultura en todas Partes”, and Sub delegate for the Minister of Culture of Baja California. She has collaborated with academic institutions in the United States, Spain, Colombia and Brazil designing and implementing seminars and programs, focused on social innovation, art, technology, education, community development, and social entrepreneurship. She is currently Executive Director of Promotora de las Bellas Artes A.C. in Tijuana, Mexico.

James Floros, Founder, and CEO, Floros & Associates
James Floros (Jim) is a 39-year nonprofit professional – 29 years of that as a CEO. Jim started his nonprofit journey at the World Headquarters of Project Concern International where he last served as the Director of Community Relations. From there Floros took his talents to the Burn Institute where he first served as the Director of Development and then, 18 months later, moved into the CEO role, which he held for 20 years. During his tenure at the Burn Institute, Jim helped build the organization into the leading Burn Foundation in North America and received the prestigious National Burn Prevention Award and the San Diego County Fire Chiefs’ Maltese Award.
In 2013, Jim joined the Jacobs and Cushman San Diego Food Bank where he led the agency to become one of the top food banks in the nation. While at the Food Bank, Jim has received numerous awards including: AFP Outstanding Development Professional of the Year and Nonprofit CEO of the Year (2016 & 2020). Jim and the agency’s he has worked for have raised in excess of $150,000,000 during his tenure. Jim left the Food Bank in 2021 to pursue his consulting business (Floros & Associates) and passion for the nonprofit sector. Jim is a graduate of the University of San Diego.

Deborah Martin, CEO/Executive Director, ElderHelp of San Diego
Deborah has always been passionate about issues and advocacy related to seniors and ElderHelp is a perfect place for that passion. As Executive Director, Deborah’s role includes overseeing all aspects of ElderHelp’s operations which include services for seniors in their home, intake and referral, transportation, SRO case management, and a shared housing program. Under Deborah’s leadership, ElderHelp has become the local authority on aging, and has created successful collaborations with several local agencies and nonprofits. In addition to multiple TV and print interviews, Deborah has presented four times at the National Aging in America conference, and has spoken at the Jewish Funders International Conference, the annual Legislative Breakfast at St. Pauls/PACE, and at the Annual California Senior Injury Prevention Educational Forum. For the last six years she has been President of the San Diego Senior Alliance, a consortium of senior service agencies focused on collaboration, public policy and creating new service delivery models for healthcare. Deborah’s advocacy for seniors and visibility with lawmakers earned ElderHelp the California Nonprofit of the Year award in 2018 from Senator Toni Atkins’ District 39. Her strategic work with policymakers earned her the California Legislative LGBTQ Caucus Award, also in 2018. Her reputation is well known throughout the community as a dedicated thought leader as she continues to work tirelessly as an advocate for older adults.

Alex Goodman, Managing Director, Oceanside Theatre Company
Alex has been a member of the NCPC board since 2015 and is the Managing Director of Oceanside Theatre Company. Previously, he served for 6 years as the Managing Director of New Village Arts where he oversaw numerous partnerships with Carlsbad businesses, collaborated with city staff and elected officials on NVA’s first long-term lease, and launched a $2.5 million renovation campaign to be completed by Summer, 2022. He spent three and a half years at La Jolla Playhouse, first as the Audience Development Manager and then Corporate Relations Manager, working extensively with UC San Diego, several of the top innovative companies in the high tech and bio tech sectors, and many military organizations throughout San Diego County. In Chicago, around the turn of the millennium, Goodman worked with several large and small theatre companies including Victory Gardens, Steppenwolf, and the award-winning Strawdog Theatre where he served as Managing Director for two years. He is also the co-founder of MOB Productions, a theatre company dedicated to the shared experience of popular culture. Goodman earned his BA in Theatre from Western Michigan University, and his MFA in Theatre Management from Wayne State University in his hometown of Detroit. Goodman currently serves on the boards of North County Arts Network and The San Diego Regional Arts and Culture Coalition, and is a graduate of the American Express Leadership Academy through the Center for Creative Leadership. He lives in Oceanside with his wife and three children.

Andy Carey, Executive Director, U.S.-Mexico Border Philanthropy Partnership
Andy Carey is the Executive Director of the U.S.-Mexico Border Philanthropy Partnership (BPP), serving a network of nearly 400 organizations that builds prosperity through leadership, collaboration, and philanthropy in the U.S.-Mexico Border region. Previously, Andy led volunteer mobilization and fund development at Kiwanis International. Andy is an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of San Diego in the School of Leadership and Education Sciences where he teaches post-graduate courses on International nonprofit management. He was named 2017-18 Adjunct Faculty of the Year by the Dean of the School of Leadership and Education Sciences. Andy serves in many civic capacities including, Chairman of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's National Advisory Committee, U.S.-Mexico Science Foundation Board of Directors, University of San Diego Kroc School of Peace and Justice Advisory Board, Independent Districting Commission in Escondido, CA., and on the Advisory Board of St. Mary Catholic School in Escondido. In 2018, Mexico's Ministry of Foreign Relations presented Andy with the Ohtli Award, in recognition of his long-standing commitment and service to the needs and interests of the Mexican community residing in the United States of America.
