Compensation: $135,000 – $150,000 DOE

MANA de San Diego(MANASD) is the largest chapter of a national Latina organization. Established in 1986,our mission is to transform communities by empowering Latinas to achieve upward mobility and a better quality of life. MANASD has built a beloved community of support to empower Latinas through education, leadership development, community service, and advocacy. Through our Hermanita programs, MANASD helps lay the foundations for Latinas to reach their goals and gain the resources to not only provide for themselves and their families, but to reciprocate and pay it forward in a variety of ways that contribute tothriving communities throughout our region. When a Latina succeeds, she creates generational changethat benefits our entire region.

                                                                                          POSITION SUMMARY

The Chief Executive Officer(CEO) serves as the key management leader of MANA de San Diego (MANASD) and is responsible for the successful leadership, management, and strategic execution of the organization’s mission. Working closely with the Director of Operations, Board Chair, and Board of Directors, the CEO will lead the organization’s vision forward, empowering Latinas to thrive and positively impact their communities. The CEO will lead with passion, collaboration, and a deep commitment to advancing equity and opportunities for Latinas.

                                                                                  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Leadership & Vision:

  • Lead the development and execution of the organization’s strategic plan in collaboration with the Boardof Directors, staff, members and volunteers, ensuring alignment with the mission of the organization.
  • Serve as the primary spokesperson and advocate for the organization, representing its interests topartners, funders, media, and the broader community.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, diversity, and innovation within the organization and the communitiesserved.
  • As a member organization, the CEO will build stronger internal relationships with MANA members andvolunteers to increase engagement in the organization’s mission.

Fundraising:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet or exceed budget.
  • Organize and manage fundraising events to meet fiscal and community engagement goals.
  • Cultivate and steward donors and volunteers to grow philanthropic base in support of the mission.
  • Identify and pursue new revenue streams and partnership opportunities to support the organization’sgrowth and mission.
  • Meet yearly goals and fundraising targets in collaboration with the Donor Relations Committee.
  • Oversee grant applications and reporting.

Program Development & Oversight:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs that support the organization’smission of empowering Latinas and promoting upward mobility.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage cross-program strengths to address community needs and capitalizeon new opportunities.
  • Ensure that programs are culturally responsive, impactful, and align with the strategic priorities of theorganization.

Operational and Fiscal Management:

  • Ensure the fiscal integrity of the organization by managing the development of the annual budget,tracking financial performance, and providing transparent financial reports in partnership with theBoard Treasurer, Board Chair, and Director of Operations.
  • Oversee the organization’s day-to-day operations, to ensure the organization is fiscally andoperationally sound.
  • Lead, inspire, manage and develop staff of 8-10 employees, volunteers, and interns to ensure aninclusive and supportive workplace.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge and practical application of employment law. Ensure compliancewith legal, ethical, and regulatory standards.

External Affairs:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships through engagement with community leaders, funders, political and business stakeholders, and other relevant partners across the greater San Diego area.
  • Actively engage and collaborate with the Latina community to ensure their needs, challenges, andaspirations are understood and integrated into the organization’s efforts.
  • Promote and elevate the visibility of the organization’s work and mission across diverse platforms and partnerships.
  • Develop and execute strategies to manage and enhance the organization’s presence in the media.
  • With the Marketing Committee, elevate brand awareness through enhanced social media presence, media advisories, press releases and other articles.
  • Lead advocacy efforts by mobilizing community members through outreach, campaigns, andleveraging resources to create systemic change that addresses the unique challenges faced by Latinasin the region.

Board Collaboration & Governance:

  • Work closely with the Board Chair, Governance Committee, and Board of Directors in fulfilling governance functions, providing regular updates on operations, financial status, and program outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the Board Chair and Director of Operations & Governance to support boarddevelopment and strategic planning.
  • With the Board Development Committee, recruit new board members as needed year-round.
  • Assist in creating an inclusive, collaborative relationship between the Board and staff to advance theorganization’s goals.
  • Report progress regularly to the Board of Directors.

                                                                                            QUALIFICTIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (BS or BSA) in business administration, nonprofit management, or arelated field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of senior management experience in the nonprofit sector, with atleast 10 years of supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated success in active fundraising, including securing grants, cultivating donor relationships,and organizing fundraising events.
  • Proven leadership in overseeing diverse teams and fostering a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
  • Strong strategic planning and execution skills, with experience in successfully managing and scalingprograms.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and public speaking skills, with the ability to engagediverse audiences.
  • Experience working with a volunteer board and fostering a collaborative governance environment.
  • Financial management skills, including budgeting, financial reporting, and resource allocation.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
  • Must successfully pass a required Background check.

Physical Requirements:

  • Excellent ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to tolerate periods of continuous sitting.
  • Must be able to lift and move items up to 15 lbs.
  • Ability to travel within San Diego County up to 20% of the time for work-related events and meetings.Travel outside of San Diego County for meetings, events, and conferences, as needed.
  • Flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.
