Scope of Work
Oceanside Museum of Art (OMA) is looking for an organized (self-starter) to support the Executive Director in management of specific fundraising initiatives and deliver on forthcoming development goals. This is a temporary position that could be extended and or transition to a full time position. The immediate need is to keep development related operations moving forward while the department is restructured.
Qualifications: The position serves as the primary support to the Executive Director to manage development activities and fundraising events. Ideal candidate has some experience working with museums, arts and or other cultural organizations. Prior sponsorship experience is a plus.
Must work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining an extraordinary ability to work independently. Strong organization, creative problem solving, and interpersonal skills are essential. Candidate should possess excellent written communication skills, and have experience with events and program sponsorship, and fundraising event management. Experience working with CRMs essential.
The ideal person will have an entrepreneurial spirit.
Short-term projects include:
Individual Donor Support
· Manage donor cultivation tracking system (Altru) and donor acknowledgement
· Assist with the design and implementation of electronic donor recognition boards using bright sign technology and flat screen monitors.
OMA 2023 Plein Air Festival – Maintain sponsorship program to support goals
§ Write sponsor benefits and oversee design of sponsorship materials
§ Promote, solicit, and track sponsors; support relationships with sponsors
§ Communicate sponsors to internal team including marketing to assure benefits are fulfilled
Special Events – Support for Annual Gala (date TBD)
§ Manage committee relationships
§ Manage event sponsorship, underwriting and tickets sales
§ Set up sponsorship benefits and promotional material; assist to procure sponsorships and in-kind donations
Additional support may include but not be limited to provide occasional support to an external grant writer, and or other projects as needed.
Compensation: Hourly at $25, on a project basis.
